Whether you’re decorating an entire, brand new house, or you’re just making over an outdated room or two, one thing’s for sure: You’re going to need some inspiration.

Fortunately, home design is huge these days, and inspiration can be found just about everywhere: on TV, in print, and, of course, on the web.

Want help hunting down some home design inspiration for your next project? Here are some resources you might want to utilize.

Where to find some interior design inspiration

    1. Inspiration in print

There are tons of magazines focused on design, home decor, and aesthetics, and these can all be great places to get inspiration for your next home makeover. Just a few smart options include:

    • House Beautiful
    • Architectural Digest
    • Southern Living
    • Homes & Gardens

Books can be great design resources, too. Well-known designers like Joanna Gaines, Marie Kondo, and Lauren Liess have all penned a number of books that can offer up inspiration.

    2. Inspiration online

There’s no shortage of interior design websites out there. For the best inspo, look to The Spruce, Apartment Therapy, Houzz, and MarthaStewart.com.

Don’t forget about Pinterest, too. The social platform is hands-down one of the best design resources around.

    3. Inspiration on TV

If you’re looking for more entertaining inspiration, you’ll find tons of it on the HGTV channel. The network is home to shows like:

    • Fixer Upper
    • Renovation Island
    • Property Brothers
    • and many more

Outside of HGTV, some good options include:

    • Amazing Interiors (Netflix)
    • Rehab Addict (Amazon)
    • Stay Here (Netflix)

    4. Interior design inspiration on your phone

There are mobile apps that can inspire your design efforts, too.

For example, Houzz has an app that’s full of real-life design pictures that can spark ideas, and you can even use it to shop for decor and furniture. The app Morpholio is another good one to consider. Basically a virtual mood board, it can help you imagine a room, shop for decor, and plan your layout all in one.

If you’re just looking for a little practice, there are also dozens of interior design-related games. Recor, Home Design Makeover, and Decorator are just a few of your options.

    5. One more inspirational source to consider
