Real Estate Conferences Agents Should Attend
As an agent, real estate conferences can offer many benefits.
They’re a great way to network, they offer loads of educational opportunities, and they can even help you stay on top of the latest and greatest developments in the industry. (And who doesn’t want an agent on the cutting edge of things?)
Conferences also allow you to travel, see the country, and potentially make friends and connections in the process.
Are you looking to take in a few real estate conferences this year? Here are the real estate conferences every agent should have on their radar:
Conferences for networking:
1. Inman Connect Live
Though Inman is known largely for its agent-focused news publication, the company’s annual Inman Connect Live is a close second in notability.
The conference spans three days, offering more than 150 speakers, 4,000 attendees, and endless educational sessions and networking opportunities.
2. REALTOR® Broker Summit
An official National Association of Realtors event, the Broker Summit will take place annually in April. Click on the link to find out where it will be this year.
The REALTOR® Broker Summit offers incredible in-person networking opportunities, learning opportunities, and exclusive insights you can only get at the conference.
Connect with industry experts, discover technologies, and obtain strategies to take home to your clients, agents, and business.
Real Estate conferences for some inspiration:
3. Success Summit
In real estate, it doesn’t get more iconic than Tom Ferry.
The longtime agent and success coach is hosting this annual event every August in Dallas, TX.
The conference will touch on everything from lead conversion and marketing to productivity, networking, and more.
Attendees will also get proven scripts for all kinds of professional scenarios.
Conferences for educational opportunities:
4. REALTORS Conference & Expo
Real estate conferences don’t get more well-attended than the National Association of Realtor’s annual Conference & Expo.
While not much has been revealed about who’s speaking or what sessions will be offered this time, if last year’s event is any indication, it should be a good one. (2022’s conference had more than 250 exhibitions alone!) In fact, you can relive the 2022 experience here.
Conferences for the latest on real estate tech:
5. RET Con
Want to learn about the next technology poised to change the industry? RETCON is your place.
The event covers the latest developments in real estate technology, innovation, and data, and 120+ scheduled speakers include execs from major brands like JLL, Brookfield Properties, Greystar, Toll Brothers, Starwood Capital Group, Cushman & Wakefield, and more.
Apply to attend, you may even qualify for a complimentary pass.
Conferences for commercial real estate agents:
6. C5 Summit
If you specialize in commercial real estate (or maybe want to), then the C5 Summit must be on your calendar.
C5 Summit is the ultimate commercial real estate event where attendees quickly connect with other leaders, stakeholders, and potential partners; engage in productive commerce and source capital; and, help redefine what community means through the partnerships they forge.
Network with influential leaders, build relationships with key decision-makers, learn about the latest trends, and start negotiating deals all at one centralized event.
Conferences for luxury real estate agents:
7. Inman Luxury Connect
Inman’s Luxury Connect is the leading event for elite agents and brokers in the luxury market. Join us in Las Vegas for A+ networking, interactive workshops and immersive discussions. Don’t miss out on the chance to connect with the best of the best in luxury real estate.
The event will occur within Inman’s larger Inman Connect Live event in Vegas. Past speakers have included well-known luxury names like Ryan Serhant (SERHANT) and Mauricio Umansky (The Agency).
Conferences for boosting morale:
8. Brokerage conferences
Attending your own brokerage’s conference is always a smart idea too.
Not only does it give you a chance to catch up on your company’s latest offerings, but you can also network, learn about upcoming developments and changes, and maybe even boost team morale while you’re at it.
Here are some major upcoming conferences:
- One21 (Century21)
- The Greenhouse (Better Homes & Gardens Real Estate)
If you can’t attend yours in person, many brokerages offer livestreaming options. Don’t have time to log in all day? Even attending just a few hours could be rewarding (just pick and choose your sessions carefully).
Conferences For Asian, Hispanic, and LGBTQ agents:
9. AREAA National Convention
If you want to network with other agents of your culture, background, and lifestyle, there are many real estate conferences to choose from.
10. NAHREP at L’attitude
The National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals will host its conference at the annual L’attitude Latino business event.
11. The Alliance
There’s also The Alliance, an event for LGBTQ+ real estate pros that takes place in Las Vegas, from September 25-27.
There will be breakout sessions, speakers, expo booths, and more. Watch the exciting highlights from last year’s conference here.
Conferences on Real Estate legislation:
12. 2024 REALTORS® Legislative Meetings
Want to affect change at the highest level? Have big ideas for where the industry can go? Then this is the event for you.
NAR members who are involved in the governance of the association and who volunteer on association committees attend this event each year. The event also attracts Federal Political Coordinators (FPCs) and other politically active members who visit congressional representatives on Capitol Hill.
This is your opportunity to have a hand in planning up-and-coming initiatives for the National Association of Realtors.
Registration details can be found on the following link. The REALTORS® Legislative Meeting will be in the heart of Washington, D.C. at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.
Other Training and Networking Events
In addition to all of these great events, you may want to check with your state’s or county’s Realtor association for events and any local broker or real estate-related groups. These can often provide niche, market-level data that can keep you in tune with local trends and help you grow your business and reach more customers.
Use NAR’s tool to find an association near you.
There are also brokerage-specific events you might consider. Keller Williams, for example, offers a wide range of camps, conferences, and expos throughout the year, as well as online webinars for additional training. Upcoming free events include:
- Build a $100K Pipeline in 90 Days
- Unconscious Bias in Real Estate
- Profit Camp
Re/Max and Coldwell Banker also host regular events for their agents. Be sure to check with your brokerage to see if there are any opportunities or events you can take advantage of in 2023.
Plan out your real estate conferences now
Some of these events may feel a bit down the road but plan now. Many events require advance registration, and you’ll need to book travel, accommodations, and other services.
You might also consider speaking to your colleagues and broker, as attending as a team could reduce your costs (or even qualify you for discounts).
