Networking and continuing education are a big part of an agent’s job. Unfortunately, the coronavirus pandemic has made both of those significantly more difficult.

Conferences are being canceled, in-person meetings and events are getting switched to Zoom, and many educational and training courses are being pushed back to an unknown date.

In short? There’s not much opportunity to grow and learn.

NAR’s 2020 Conference & Expo

This is one conference that wasn’t canceled. Instead, it will be switched to a virtual format and move forward as planned. The event will take place Nov. 13 through 16 and feature a variety of industry speakers, networking events, training content, and more.

Inman Connect Now

Agent-focused news publication Inman is hosting a live digital event series dubbed “Inman Connect Now” throughout 2020. Events are set for June 2-4, September 15, and October 20. They’ll all feature general learning sessions, networking opportunities, and well-known speakers from across the industry.

HousingWire Tech Demos

Another industry publication — HousingWire — is also hosting its own series of online events, this time focused on technology. These “Virtual Demo Days” can expose you to dozens of up-and-coming tech solutions that can streamline your business, add convenience for your customers, and improve your bottom line.

Various Online Real Estate Schools

A number of real estate training schools offer fully digital courses and certifications. You can try McKissock, Kaplan, Real Estate Express, Aceable Agent, Champions, and more. Each one offers a variety of options, and most are only a few hundred dollars or less.

Local Realty Groups

Be sure to check with your local REALTOR® association. Many are offering online continuing education courses, as well as virtual networking opportunities in light of all that’s going on. Your brokerage may even have some options, especially if you work for one of the bigger names (Keller Williams, RE/MAX, Compass, etc.)
