Embrace Provides Relief Assistance to Victims in Puerto Rico
By all accounts, Puerto Rico was devastated by Hurricane Maria and its aftermath. The storm pounded the entire island, leaving over three million American citizens across the entire U.S. territory without electricity or running water. No telephone, cell phone service, internet or passage over the roads that have been washed away or blocked by debris. Puerto Rico is in crisis. Hurricane Maria wiped out the territory’s agriculture, its infrastructure and it’s already struggling economy. The Island is in desperate need of relief efforts for many months to come.
There are several Embrace employees with family in Puerto Rico, family in need of love and support. One of Embrace’s core values is community – it is about being “in it together.” As a show of support for those in the Embrace community with family and friends in Puerto Rico, the company is undertaking a relief effort to assist all residents of the island.
Embrace’s Plan for Puerto Rico
Embrace Home Loans is stepping forward by running a collection for our employees and the local community to drop off goods which victims of the hurricane are in desperate need of at our Middletown, Rhode Island headquarters, as well as all of our branches across the United States.
Embrace will then take a truck from Middletown, stopping at several branch locations to pick up items collected, and then send all donations to Puerto Rico where residents are urgently awaiting supplies.
How You Can Help
Our Middletown headquarters will be holding a collection drive on Saturday, October 7 from 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and also accepting donations Monday – Friday between 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., now through October 11.
You can assist by dropping any new, unused products listed below by Wednesday, October 11th when our truck will be loaded and begin the journey down the east coast. Branches located in other areas will ship any items collected directly to the locations we’ll be stopping at.

Why Embrace is Stepping Forward
Embrace cares about our community, local and around the country as one of our main company values. The Embrace team supports relief efforts, small- or wide-scale, and is looking to help in any way possible for both immediate and future relief. We sympathize with the difficulty residents are currently facing and as they begin rebuilding.
Several of our Embrace employees have family members living in Puerto Rico, some still waiting to hear from their loved ones. Our company supports these relief efforts, and although it could take years for some to rebuild, Embrace and our employees are looking forward to help in any way possible for immediate relief and with any efforts needed in the future.
