Agents, If You Have an iPhone This App Is for You

There’s big news for real estate agents who want to add 3D virtual tours to their listings. Zillow has introduced a new app called Zillow 3D Home™ that makes creating a 3D-like virtual tour fast and easy using just your iPhone. Zillow first piloted their 3D Home™ app in Arizona back in 2017, but it has now been released in both the U.S. and Canada.

Simply take panoramic pictures of the home’s interior and Zillow’s servers stitch the photos together to create a 3D virtual tour. Zillow notes that a typical home can be captured in about 30 minutes. This is compared to the 10 – 20 minutes it can take using a 360-degree camera. All you need to do is upload the images to publish and your done. Potential buyers can take a tour of your listing immediately.

An Immersive Experience

Prospective buyers view the tour simply by clicking, tapping, and dragging their way from room-to-room. Zillow is promoting the app as a supplement — not a replacement — to static photos, rather than a complete Augmented Reality tour as created by a professional.

According to the iTunes App Store, “Zillow 3D Home™ allows anyone to capture and share a virtual tour of a home with the support of a 360 camera or iOS device. Create an immersive experience that gives home shoppers a deeper understanding of the space as they explore the home. It’s as easy as clicking a button.”

There are no per-home or hosting fees, which means you can create as many tours as you like. You can even post your listing to Trulia. The app doesn’t work with Apple’s iPad or any iPhones older than the iPhone 6 and 6S.
