9 Things Successful Marketers Do Every Day

Being a successful marketer requires both discipline and flexibility. You need to meet your daily, weekly, monthly marketing goals and allow for the unexpected at the same time. By beginning your day working through this series of tasks, you should be able to free up time to deal with whatever comes along.
- Review plan – Review your priorities for both the day and the week. Are you on target with your marketing projects? Are there short term changes you should make? How does your daily schedule look in terms of new client meetings, showings, closings, etc.
- Check with the team – Based on your review, follow up with both internal and external colleagues prior to contacting specific clients. These contacts could include your office manager, builders, closing attorneys, mortgage lenders, etc.
- Contact clients – Now that you’ve checked with the team, you’re ready to reach out to clients and provide necessary updates and return all important phone calls and emails.
- Check market news – As a real estate agent, it’s important that you allot time to check local and national market conditions. This information can change your marketing strategy and the subject matter of the content you create.
- Create content – Whether it’s posting new listings, publishing an article, or working on something new, it’s important to devote a part of each day to creating value-added content for your clients and posting it to the appropriate channel.
- Socialize on social media – Check your website, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and any other social media outlets you’re currently using. Respond to inquires and post new listings along with any new content you have ready.
- Check the competition – It’s important to keep an eye on your competition. Check MLS and Realtor.com. What new listings has the competition acquired? Are there listings your clients would be interested in seeing?
- Look at the numbers – Check your website, social media, email campaigns, and any other ongoing marketing initiatives and measure against current goals. Adjust goals as necessary.
- Prep for the next day – Take a few moments at the end of your day to plan for tomorrow.
Once you’re got yourself in the habit of working this list everyday, you’ll be better prepared to accommodate anything that could come up unexpectedly. These tasks keep you current and help plan and recalibrate your marketing efforts when necessary. Completed each day, they should take up less time and free you up to meet with new and existing clients.
